ArmA and Nail'd

So, I finished up ArmA 2: OA the other day. Apparently I stopped on the last level (or second to last if you fail to kill someone during the mission). It was an utter bullshit mission. No wonder I didn't want to go back to that load of crap. The game is so glitched it's almost impossible to get through perfectly unless you're a lucky son of a bitch. Well, it's over now, and I'll never be looking in the direction of another ArmA game ever again. Definitely far from my cup of tea and pretty frustrating due to all the bullshit deaths and glitches. Oh, did I forget to mention the soldiers on your team rarely if ever fight for you? They stand around looking like morons getting shot by snipers, machine gunners, and tanks alike. Hell, if a tank drives right up in front of them and they're in a tank of their own... you better not trust that they're going to do anything special because they'll stare at each other for about 30 seconds before the enemy tank blows the shit out of the ally AI. It's moronic.

Enough about that though. I started up a new exclusive for GameAnyone after finishing my other two (ArmA and 007), which is the first racing game I've ever worked on. It's called Nail'd. It's a pretty fast paced racing game with a motherload of jumps everywhere. It can be quite fun to play even if you're losing. I'm rather enjoying it and recommend picking it up whenever you get the chance if you like racing games.

I'm also thinking of possibly adding on another LP, but at the same time I want to finish the ones I'm currently working on. It's kind of a hard choice to make because I feel I want to do other things, but at the same time I want to go through and finish what I've been doing. Ah well, I'll work it out one way or another.

Have fun, people. Till next time.

First Exclusive Done and Other Stuff

So, I finally managed to finish up one of my first GameAnyone exclusives. Still need to go back and work on ArmA 2, but 007 is currently done. It was a lot easier to do 007 since it was actually fun to play through while ArmA leaves a lot to be desired for me. It just really isn't my style.

I've started doing some more work on Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines for the Brujah clan Let's Play that I've been doing. Don't know what I'll get to next, though. I might either continue it or work on one of the other things I've been doing... who knows?

I picked up some games during the Thanksgiving special week recently. Quite a few cheap ones there. Finally got Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. I must say, it's actually rather fun. It reminds me of Alien Swarm in the style, but is a lot more fun and has a lot of heart pounding action. I played it multiplayer with my sister recently, which actually seems to make the game harder. It seems to get very glitchy in multiplayer mode such as characters going through walls, being lagged in such a way that the traps aren't doing the same thing for both players, being slammed off the side of a mountain that you were sure you were on just fine, or using a grapple hook that keeps hitting the wrong object no matter what you do. That little bastard just won't cooperate. Still, a lot of fun multiplayer with a good friend or sister, as it may be.

That's it for now. Later.

This Weekend

So, I plan to get back to my other let's plays this weekend. I know a lot of people lately have just been wanting to see Minecraft, but I'm not going to turn my channel into a Minecraft only channel. It's a back end project at best and will never become a front end project.

A few more parts of the double wide Borderlands playthrough have been uploaded exclusively to GameAnyone.com. The solo-play can still be seen on my YouTube channel, though. Borderlands is also a back end project like Minecraft, but still closer to the front end than Minecraft in my opinion.

I think I'll probably be working on some 007 this weekend if all goes well. I'm not quite sure what else I want to do beyond that at this point. I would kind of like to get to the end of 007 because I want to see what happens in the end game. It's kind of like a Bond movie that I started watching and didn't get to finish yet. I want to know how it ends. I should also get back to ArmA 2 at some point... but the game annoys the hell out of me. It isn't my style game at all. I've definitely gotta play a bit of these games first before starting a blind run, just to get a feel for it to make sure it's something I want to play rather than something that annoys me.

Enough about exclusives. I'm sure I'll return to Dead Rising 2 very soon. I want to get through that game as well to see what happens. TK is an asshole, but I've definitely gotta figure out where the entire game is going with the scenario... what I'll have to do to prove my innocence. Will I be able to prove it? Will the military even listen when they get to the mall? I really would like to know the answers to those questions and more. I also want to come back and play through the game with a high level character to kick the living shit out of the psychopaths for killing me. Those guys are annoying as all get-out.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines has taken somewhat of a backseat as of late. I think the main reason for that is because I know the game really well, and I know I will be able to tear through it quickly as soon as I am ready to go back to it. Other games interest me more just because of the fact that I haven't played them before, or they've been played a lot less than VtMB for me. I'd love to get back to Dead Space if Francis had the time... or even Demon's Souls if KuinSan had the time. So far that hasn't panned out. However... there could be some interesting console stuff on the horizon in the near future deviating away from my usual PC medium.

Well, that's it for now. Signing off.

Borderlands

By now the new Let's Play has become quite visible and is Borderlands with PitchingAce88. I have actually been discussing the Let's Play with him for quite awhile now. Probably months minimum on that discussion. We're submitting solo-views to our own channels on YouTube, and a special double wide screen edition to GameAnyone exclusively. It should definitely be a lot of fun. I've never finished playing through the entire game because I either get sidetracked or at this point I wanted to wait to play it through with Ace.

In other news, more Minecraft is soon to hit my channel in the future. I've got a good bit recorded. Now I just need to render them out and upload them to the channel afterward. A lot of stuff happened during the set... a lot of death and eventually a lot of successful building toward what I had planned to do. I like the way it eventually turned out even though it seemed like a survival mission I was losing at first.

Signing out for now.

Surprise Let's Play

A new Let's Play looms close over the horizon. Tomorrow or Sunday the first parts will be released. This one is going to be a fairly special Let's Play as it will be something I have never done before in terms of how I put the video together. I hope everyone has a good time with it once it's released. For now, what it is will remain a surprise - so be on the lookout for it in the near future.

Due to the high demand, I'll be continuing with more parts of Minecraft soon here as well as trying to finish up the other Let's Plays I'm currently working on. Hopefully some of my older Let's Plays will be returning to the fold to be completed in the near future as well. We'll see how that goes.

Till next time, signing out.

New Beginnings

So, someone not too long ago said I should start a blog. I was apprehensive at first and suddenly today felt inspired to create one. So here we are.

I'm creating this mainly to follow interests of mine such as Let's Playing and video games. It might expand to other things given time, but at the moment those seem like the best places to start.

I started doing Let's Plays back in June of 2009, so it's been about a year and a half as of this very moment that I've been doing them. I started out with one of my favorite games, Thief: Deadly Shadows, as the first one I ever did. The Thief series has always been near and dear to me even though it was dumbed down with the third installment coming from a different company than the one that created the first two games. Really, Thief: Deadly Shadows changes the game quite dramatically compared to the previous titles including using a dagger rather than a sword as the main weapon. Honestly, that seems more thief-like anyway, but it took a bit of getting used to when I first played it back in 2004 when it first came out.

From Thief: Deadly Shadows, I've branched out into quite a few other different Let's Plays with various gameplay styles even though I prefer sneaking around the most. The latest trio of games I've been working on have been Dead Rising 2, James Bond 007: Blood Stone (which should have gotten better reviews!), and Minecraft. Minecraft is definitely a deviation from my normal flavor of gaming especially due to no objectives and strange graphics. I have fun with it, and I suppose we'll see where that goes as time progresses. Quite a few people seem interested in it so I'll keep working on it for the moment.

Eventually, after expanding out to various Let's Plays, I stumbled across a website called GameAnyone.com via one of the Let's Players I enjoyed watching. At first I was a bit wary of the site as I had no idea what it was all about. After a few weeks of seeing the Let's Player constantly mentioning GameAnyone.com in his videos, I took my chances and headed over to the site. I found the site to be a place where you were allowed to submit walkthroughs, playthroughs, Let's Plays, and anything else that people call them as long as the game was started from the beginning and was followed through to completion (100% unnecessary). The site was brilliant, and I immediately found myself wanting to get involved after I found out what was going on joining the site on February 6th, 2010. Once I realized anyone could easily get involved by going through their easy walkthrough adder system via a YouTube Playlist URL, I was hooked. At some point, I decided I wanted to become even more involved and started to audiomark my videos by talking about GameAnyone.com in the first 10 or so seconds. After that it was just a hop, skip, and a jump away from figuring out how to watermark my videos and things went from there. Apparently the higher ranking members noticed what I was doing on the site and requested I apply to become what is called a Director on the site - a featured contributor who gains perks from the site and is more involved with the site. I've been a Director ever since and have recently been given the opportunity to work my way up into the ranks of the Moderators from being a Director. Basically the same thing as a Director, just with more responsibility.

So, that's my basic story behind becoming a Let's Player. I think it makes a good first blog post to start this thing off. Still, I've never done any blogging before which means I have no idea what the whole thing is about unless you count one of those journal sites, which I didn't do for very long.

In any case, signing off for now. Till next time.
